Things to keep in mind

  • Always review the instructions included in your box thoroughly before you start installation.
  • Lay flooring only after sheetrock and tile work are thoroughly dried and all woodwork and trim have been completed.
  • To prevent warping and gaps, the flooring needs to sit at least 48 hours in the space to acclimate to the temperature and humidity where it is being installed.
  • No matter the material of the subfloor, test its moisture content with a moisture meter to confirm that it’s not above 12 percent.

  • Prepare a 20” x 20” starter board from plywood, and ensure it is perfectly square.
  • Snap chalk lines touching the edge points of the starter rows to create necessary guidelines. Measure the lines to make sure they are perfectly parallel with the X axis.
  • Ensure there is a minimum of 5/8” thickness expansion space around all vertical obstructions.
  • Frequently check measurements and row alignment to ensure installation progress is staying true.
  • Keep foot traffic to a minimum to ensure the adhesive has adequate time to cure.  Wait at least 24 hours before moving furniture and resuming normal traffic on the floor.  Check the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions to ensure additional time is not required for the adhesive to cure.
